Jim and Maree presented us with an interesting challenge: extend an existing second storey. Not only did they want the second storey extended, but they required a new bedroom, living room, powder room and balcony while extending the walk-in-robe in the main bedroom.
Luckily, we relish a challenge and were up for the task. The existing retreat now provides access to the new living area. The new living room connects with the new bedroom and powder room via an alcove. The living room also leads onto a large balcony, complete with French doors and feature windows.
To match the materials in the existing residence, we paid close attention to detail and found the perfect match for the face brickwork and roof tiles. To ensure great aesthetics, we used brick veneer throughout the extension.
The outcome was perfect. The extension looks like it was part of the house from day one. There are three essential elements to any home extension—they must be designed well, conform to the budget and look great. We were able to achieve all three objectives for Jim and Maree.
