Recently, the conveyance division of law firm Slater and Gordon released the results of a poll asking Australians in WA, NSW, Queensland and Victoria what they wanted to change about their homes.
In Western Australia, only 19% said they were satisfied with their current homes. That means 81% of people in Western Australia wanted some kind of home renovations. We are sure a large number of those people were from right here in the Perth market. So, what do your Perth and WA neighbours most want to change about their homes? Let’s take a look.
Poll Results
18% of all homeowners polled want a new kitchen. That was the most often mentioned room, but the rest of the poll is a lot closer than most polls. 15% said they wanted to extend the existing rooms in their homes. 14% said they wanted a new bathroom. 13% said they wanted to landscape the garden. 11% said they wanted an extra bedroom and 8% said they wanted a swimming pool.
What The Results Could Mean to You
With more than 70 years combined experience in home renovations in the Perth area, none of this really surprised us. Over the last 50 years, land blocks have gotten smaller and smaller. This has resulted in homes that are smaller than they were 50 years ago. Meanwhile, we still have families. If anything, we need more space now than we did then, due to all of the technology we are allowed to enjoy.
